How to Look After Your Candle

We are so happy you have chosen a Mogo Candle Co candle to enrich your home! To prolong the life of your beautiful candle, please follow these simple, but effective tips.

WAX HAS A MEMORY
Always, on your first burning of your candle, allow enough time for the top of your candle to completely melt and form a wax pool from one side of the jar to the other. This creates a wax memory pool and aids in the longevity and enjoyment of your entire candle. Leave lighting your candle for the first time until you are able to let it create this first wax pool.

HOW TO CORRECTLY BURN YOUR CANDLE
Only burn your candle for between 2-4 hours each time. When you burn your candles for longer than 4 hours the entire vessel will become increasingly hot which means that your candle will burn away quicker.

Trim your wick before each burn.

Do not place candles near curtains, open windows or on soft furnishings.

Do not place your candle on a table in a corner during winter months as the air behind the candle jar is always colder and your candle will warm at the front of the jar and burn down at the front leaving a wall of wax behind in the jar closest to the cold walls.

ABOUT LIGHTING THE APOTHECARY JAR CANDLES
Our apothecary jar candles (especially the large jars) are taller than a BBQ match. We recommend using an over lighter to safely relight the candle as the wax surface recedes closer to the bottom of the jar.
